Richard Clarke, who has devoted three decades of service to seven U.S. presidents, will keynote the 2nd Annual MANDIANT Incident Response Conference (MIRcon) Oct. 11, in Alexandria, Va.

Prior to an unprecedented 11 consecutive years of White House service, Clarke served 19 years in the Pentagon, the intelligence community and State Department. During the Reagan Administration, he served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Intelligence; and under the first Bush Administration, he served as Assistant Secretary of State for Political-Military Affairs, coordinating diplomatic efforts and subsequent security arrangements to support the 1990-91 Gulf War. In his storied career, Clarke has worked for seven presidents and devoted three decades to combating the terrorist threat to America.

Today, Clarke is a best-selling author and Chairman at Good Harbor Consulting, where he advises clients on a range of issues including corporate security risk management, information security technology, dealing with the federal government on security and IT issues, and counterterrorism.
“Attacks on critical infrastructure, government and private industry continue to outpace the information security industry’s collective ability to protect critical assets,” Clarke said. “I am honored to address the MIRcon audience of leading government and enterprise first responders, who each day face an onslaught of more systematic and sophisticated attack schemes.”

Now in its second year, MIRcon 2011 will build on its inaugural debut, providing attendees case studies and insights from the front line into how organizations are using MANDIANT’s solutions to detect and respond to advanced targeted attacks. Attendees will participate in sessions delivered by some of the most influential voices in incident response, malware analysis, reverse engineering and computer forensics.
